I honestly do not understand how it's October. Like, that completely blows my mind. My mind is still stuck in summer, even though I'm surrounded by orange leaves and pumpkin spice lattes. I've still never tried a pumpkin spice latte.
But really, October? October is honestly the epitome of fall, and I can't believe that we're already here. September was weird enough, and now it's over. I can't quite comprehend it.
I think that October feels weird because September was such a whirlwind of a month. It was SO BUSY. My list of goals basically went out the window because it was all I could do to keep my head above the water. The beginning of the month was full of school and packing and preparations, and then we were in Florida for ten days. Florida was absolutely wonderful, but it made life pretty stressful when I got home.
Aside from theatre, life became full of catching up. Catching up on piles of schoolwork, catching up beta reading, and catching up on ALL the blogs. I went contra dancing, which I've learned is not for me. I went to see a musical with a friend, which was great. I had a cold for a few days- NOT fun. I've been working like crazy promoting a fundraiser coming up that I'm excited for. Had to write my first college essay and didn't die, which is a success in my book. And I've FINALLY rejoined the blog world, which is making me very happy. ♥
Speaking of the blog world, some pretty awesome things happened around here, despite the fact that I never was around, haha. The wonderful Kate guest posted on the blog, which was amazing, and I guest posted on hers as well! That was probably my favorite post of the month. Also around here, I reviewed Anna's debut novel, Continuing Forever, and got nominated for about a million okay it was three tags.

Honestly, I don't even want to go over last month's resolutions, because they were an epic flop, to say the least. Like I said, I was so busy trying to stay afloat that I didn't get to be half as productive as I would have liked to be.
I'll put it this way- my novel is still in the pits of despair, breakfast has basically been nonexistent, my room is a wreck, I did read, but I didn't finish five books, I am back on top of my schoolwork but most of the month I wasn't, Christmas and journaling just make me laugh, and I'm just going to pretend that my resolution not to stress out didn't exist.
BUT, I'm just going to forget about it, because with everything else going on, I'm okay with skipping a couple of resolutions!

Despite my sadness that it's actually autumn, it should be a fun month. ♥ Are you excited?

Can you believe it's actually October?? I can't get over it! What do YOU have planned??
October is probably my favorite month!!! I absolutely adore Halloween costumes, I'm still trying to figure my own out. But I saw this awesome eyeliner for Halloween the other night I think I'm going to try, the bottom of the eyeliner branches out and becomes a spider web!!! And congratulations on getting cast, that may be the most exiting feeling in the world!!!
ReplyDeleteHalloween costumes are SO much fun! I don't know what I want to do yet- I've got to figure it out! Ooooh that eyeliner sounds fabulous! I think that I've seen something similar on Pinterest- I'll have to try it out sometime. Thank you so much!!!!! It really is:):):) <3
DeleteThank you so much for reading, Samantha!!
Dude these resolutions gave me autumn chills!! Happy October!!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY OCTOBER!!!!
DeleteEEEEEEEEEP I AM SO BEHIND ON YOUR BLOG GRACE ANNE IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY. <3 but this post gave me a perfect opportunity to catch up a little bit!! *hugs you and gives you many waffles* omgggg FLORIDA. :''') Florida is so lovely I cannot even. It sounds like you had such a fun time!! and oh gosh yes -- the stress when returning home from a trip IS REAL *insert all the upsidedown emojis* eh.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried a pumpkin spice latte either. xD But then tea is more of my jam. WHY AREN'T THERE MORE COOL TEA DRINKS?? TEA PEOPLE LIKE ME...HOW COME WE DON'T GET FUN SEASONAL TEA-BASED DRINKS?? THAT'S WHAT I WANT TO KNOW. eeep your goals are basically #goals muahaha ;) I need to read more books this month too <3
lotsalove,
abbiee
ABBIEE Okay i read your comment and i gotta tell ya: if you're looking for a cool tea drink try the london fog earl grey latte. i think they sell them at Starbucks.
DeleteTHAT IS COMPLETELY OKAY I'M GLAD TO SEE YOUUUUU!!! <3 <3 <3 Florida is my favorite place, oh my goodness. I was going through photos today and just wishing that I was back in Florida instead of here doing school. XD Coming-back stress is the WORST. Like, ever. BUT I AM CAUGHT UP AND HAPPY AGAIN.
DeleteYAY I'm glad that I'm not the only one. xD I REALLY NEED TO TRY TEA. Like I've had sweet tea because hello southern but I've never had hot tea. I NEED TO FIX THAT. And we'll both do tons of reading. <3
Abby- YAY NOW I'LL TRY THAT TOO
I HAVE TO GET MY COLLEGE APPLICATIONS IN but I'm going to NY in November, so I'm so excited!
ReplyDeleteCOLLEGE APPLICATIONS AHHH NO THAT'S TERRIFYING NO. You're going to NY???? Oh my gosh that's amazinggggg! November is seriously the best time to be in NY like the weather is perfect and they're starting to put decorations up and oh my gosh it's so perfect. <3 Please go to Broadway so I can live vicariously through you.
DeleteI cannot believe it's October either O.O Like, when did that happen??! SERIOUSLY. and I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU'VE NEVER HAD A PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE. AHHDFAKJSDLHKJFAHLSDKJFAHSD. I SOUND LIKE SUCH A CLICHE AMERICAN GIRL BUT YOU /MUST/ HAVE ONE BECAUSE THEY ARE SOOOOO GOOD. I haven't had one this year UGH. *aggressively needs one because coffee is LIIIIIFE*
ReplyDeleteAnd as for my goals, it basically sums up into: finish draft 2 of my WIP, plan book 2 of my series, continue my study of kindness, keep blogging, stay on top of school, and HAVE FUN WITH LIFE BECAUSE ALL MY PLANS COULD GO PSHHHH BUT THAT'S OKAY BECAUSE PLANS ARE UNCERTAIN BUT GOD IS CONSTANT.
I can't believe it's October. What the heck?! I'm trying to wrap my head around it but so far it's not working. I'M SUCH A BAD TEENAGE GIRL I NEED TO FIX THIS. *sends you all the pumpkin spice lattes*
DeleteAhhhhh YOU HAVE THE BEST GOALS OF EVER. I NEED TO ACCEPT YOUR MINDSET ASAP.
I'm also still trying to comprehend October's existment (did I seriously just write existment I meant existence, *headdesk* I've been writing too long) And I've never had a pumpkin spice latte either so like tell me what it's like when you try one.
ReplyDeleteXD ^I've been doing stuff like that all the time. I shall!
DeleteI honestly can't believe it's October already. It's so crazy. Also, I've never had pumpkin spice latte either. :D I need to read more books too. I feel like in summer I got into reading slump and since august I've read maybe one or two books which is so not my style. I like your resolutions for October, I need to try some new recipe from Pinterest too. :)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it either. We're so close to 2017 it's not even funny. YAY I'm so glad I'm not the only one! :D I've been in a major reading slump lately- it's obnoxious. I need to find some good books to dig into! Pinterest recipes are so much fun:)
DeleteI'm actually 100% down for October because dressing for September is soooo difficult like it's winter in the morning/night, fall for most of the day and freaking 90 degree summer during the afternoon so I'm constantly debating between sweaters and short dresses and most of the time I end up turning into an ice cube in the mornings or melting in the afternoons
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about your novel coming to a halt. That happened with Dragons. I haven't fully admitted it to myself yet, but I've basically put it aside indefinitely… Okay, I basically just admitted it. Anyway, I know how that feels and whichever way you go with it just remember that you're under no obligations right now. No one else is reading it, you still have time to become a writer before you graduate college, and the main thing that matters is that you keep writing SOMETHING.
Congratulations on your part!!!!
It's still like that here in the South. Honestly, it'll probably last this way until like, late November. Sometimes we even have 70's in December, although that's kind of rare. But it's really hard to figure out what to wear, my gosh. Layers upon layers.
DeleteI'm so sorry about Dragons- that's literally the worst thing. Thank you SO MUCH for the encouragement!!! I'm trying to keep that in mind:) I've actually managed to get some momentum on my novel again, which I'm really excited about- it's nice to enjoy writing again.
Thank you so much!!!! <3
I'M GOING TO BE A PARTY POOPER AND SAY THAT YOU'RE ACTUALLY NOT MISSING OUT ON MUCH WITH THE PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE. Since I work at Starbucks, I tried it, and just... no? I was kind of disappointed with it after all the hype. I really like getting a chai with a couple pumps of pumpkin spice in there. It's a lot yummier that way. :D
ReplyDeleteAND YES you should take an autumn photo shoot and then share pictures because that would be epic. I'm planning to do one too (hopefully) this month and am allll the excited. :D
YOU CAN SURVIVE THE PSAT. I BELIEVE IN YOU. CONQUER THE THING. <3
// katie grace
a writer's faith
THANK YOU FOR TELLING ME!!!!! Because it's not worth trying if it's not that great. XD I'll have to try the chai!! That sounds really good:) BARISTA ADVICE FROM KATIE GRACE IS THE BEST!!
DeleteI seriously need to get on that! I have all these ideas planned out, but I haven't taken the photos yet. Partly because the trees are refusing to change colors. XD SOON!
THANK YOU!!!!! I SHALL TRY!!! <3
EEEP I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S OCTOBER EITHER!! September was a CRAZY month for me too!
ReplyDeleteYAY CONGRATS ON GETTING THE PART!!! GAH I love theater and acting and all the wonderful things. Have fun, girl!! ♥
YOU GO ON THOSE GOALS!! I love setting goals, but accomplishing them in a timely fashion tends o be a little harder. :P ♥
September is always so crazy! I guess it's the result of getting back to school but oh my gosh it's stressful.
DeleteEEP THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Theatre is just so wonderful:)♥ I WILL!!
Setting them is one thing, accomplishing them is a whole different beast entirely. xD
So fun, Grace! <3 I can't wait to see what your Autumn inspired outfit and Pinterest will be. :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to share them!!!
DeleteI'm half freaking out because THE YEAR IS NEARLY OVER and half excited because so many books I'm dying for are coming out soon. SQUEEE. Also I love how you have monthly goals!! That is super cool! I'm actually considering doing that next year when I start a bullet journal...if I can keep to it all hahaah. 😂 Anyway! I hope October is a little less busy for you so you get a chance to catch up on all the things. :D AND GOOD LUCK WITH NANO DECISIONS!!🎉
ReplyDeleteI REALLY WANT TO START BULLET JOURNALING!! It looks like so much fun. I love doing goals, although they're somewhat stressful because HELLO FAILING ON GOALS. 😂 EEP NANO DECISIONS PROBABLY NEED TO FIGURE THAT OUT xD
DeleteIt can be so disheartening when you fail in achieving your monthly goals but make sure you don't let that get you down! <3
